on Friday, since we arrived in the US, and coincidentally that matches the longest single term I've ever spent outside of the UK in my whole life! Sad eh?
Overall the omens are good and point to a much, much longer term of residence. Who knows, we might never go back!

Watched the Watchmen!
Went to see this flick last night and came away thoroughly impressed. It's everything I expected, and while it might not make everyone's 'top 10 movies' lists, it is a superb and sympathetic celluloid rendering of the graphic novel, a medium-paced thriller with a flawless cast and no wasted screen space. It certainly didn't feel the length of its posted time (2.43), unlike The Dark Knight, but was it as good? Maybe not...
Talking of 'watching', our living room furnishings currently consist of two lawn chairs and a big TV set, and while that might seem like enough, I am glad to report that our two new sofas should be arriving Friday.

Tripletastic!
Just got connected to Comcast's Triple Play service: Digital phone, HD TV (including On Demand and DVR), and the Intarweb thingy, which on first play seems nice and fast. I feel connected to civilization again!
Coincidentally our new TV also arrived.
P.S. My SSN finally arrived, so I'm a bona fide American worker now and can start earning (and paying tax)... (I have already memorized the number - it's '5'... (Iron Man joke.)).
P.P.S And I found a Starbucks coffee that I like - the fresh drip Pike Place Roast - stronger and cheaper than the Americano.

Unleashed in the Eastside
We've taken possession of our new home - a rental house in the South Bellevue area, so we're out on the Eastside, which means I'll be braving I-90 daily by express (hopefully) bus. Here's a couple of pics:

Unfortunately most of our worldly possessions are still out on the ocean and our new purchases are still in a Californian warehouse, so it's anyone's guess what we'll be sitting on next week...
